Piv 5.9 Rich Client Automatically opens form with record loaded
« on: December 10, 2014, 09:52:58 AM »
I need to open Pivotal 5.9 Rich Client in Internet Explorer and have it automatically load a data record just as if the user had performed the process manually.

Support tells me it cannot be done.  I know there is the concept of a shortcut file that can be passed on an email for example.  This is just a text file with information in it about form, record, etc.  So I was wondering if anyone had worked out a process that passed this stuff on the URL or maybe some hybrid of creating a shortcut file and executing it.

There's a whole KB on it, 8168, which I remember using back in the day.

Parameters attached to the Rich Client URL allow control over the middle tier machine and system as well as the state of the system when it opens.

The format of the URL is as follows:
"http://[Server]/ePower/rdaui.htm?[SystemName]&http://[Server]&[parameter1=value1]&[parameter2=value2]& ..."

I assume you can get to the KB, if not, I'll send you the article
