Set Pivotal Theme or other options via IafConfig
« on: March 14, 2017, 06:36:15 AM »
Looking thru Pivotal DLL's I found classes called ThemingOptionsPanel and DockingWorkbenchOptionsPage and DockingWorkbenchOptionsAppAddIn.
From code I can see that they are used to set Theme inside Pivotal, but I can't find any options inside SmartClient for it.

I've searched over IafConfig but there isn't anything about customization and setting colors. Does anyone know how to enable those panels?
I as able to change SplashScreen but I'd like to know how to enable/disable options in SmartClient and how to allow customization.

I wasn't able to find any information about what can we change in IafConfig, so any documentation about it will be more that helpful.

Thanks!

the best you can do with Pivotal is some modification if the instance.xml file that you'll find in the "C:\Program Files\CDC Software\Smart
Updater\40\instances\PivotalClient\6.5.x.0" folder

This allows you to change the Pivotal icon, start menu options (i.e. folder structure and application name), etc..

If you look at the Pivotal CRM - 6.5.2 Installation and Deployment Guide, and search for instance.xml, you'll find more detail.

Note: you cannot change the colour scheme in Pivotal 6; as the old head of Pivotal CRM R&D used to say at various customer & partner conferences: "you can have any colour you want as long as it is powder blue!"

@crmpimp thank You for reply.
I heard the same thing about blue color  :) that's why I started digging thru DLL's and I found those classes.
Maybe they are left behind and are unused, but I guess that there is an option to use them, but I don't know (yet) how to do it.

@Ashish Iddya any information when it will be available? I'm using 6.5.2 right now and I'm wondering what will be added in 6.6 (except themes). Could You share some information?

Just to confirm with everyone - theme-ing is basically available with Pivotal 6.6.

Yes - you can finally more away from the tired old 'sky blue' theme! Yay! Note that there are still some limitations (and a lot of them), but change is in the wind!

@crmpimp thanks for the update :)
I'm in the middle of testing version 6.6. Finally limited theming is available.
Unfortunately, a lot of my custom code is throwing errors. 90% works great but I must get that last 10% working.
